Lamentations 3:19-24
“The thought of my suffering and homelessness
is bitter beyond words.
I will never forget this awful time,
as I grieve over my loss.
Yet I still dare to hope
when I remember this:
The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!’”
Reflection
Sit for a moment with any feelings of despair, disappointment, or grief you are experiencing right now. Can you express it honestly to God?
The disciples of Jesus were in crisis on that Saturday. Hope was dead, and they did not know what was ahead. Are there any places of waiting or disorientation in your life right now where you feel uncertain of how God is at work?
Take a moment to be silent. Be with God without words. Wait and remember this day of rest and stillness.
Pray
- for God to meet you in any grief, disappointment, questions or waiting
- for rest
Jesus, you have done everything. Help us as we wait for what you have next.
