Isaiah 42:1-4a
“Look at my servant, whom I strengthen.
He is my chosen one, who pleases me.
I have put my Spirit upon him.
He will bring justice to the nations.
He will not shout
or raise his voice in public.
He will not crush the weakest reed
or put out a flickering candle.
He will bring justice to all who have been wronged.
He will not falter or lose heart
until justice prevails throughout the earth.”
Reflection
What stands out to you about Jesus’ attitude and example as a servant?
How do you want to stay close to Jesus during this Holy Week?
Consider setting aside a regular time and place to pause and turn your attention to God every day this week.
Pray
- for Jesus to make things right in places of injustice and pain in our world
- to meet Jesus in our weakness and vulnerability
- with gratitude for Jesus’ example of facing difficulty without giving up
Jesus, meet us in our everyday life this week with reminders of your incredible love and sacrifice. Thank you for your faithful willingness to obey God—even when it took you to the cross. We are trusting you to finish your work and make everything right. Amen.
